I started out making this site to be dedicated towards new parents, but then found a ton of other sites doing a good job on that topic already. So, I'm going to be instead starting out on another topic that's close to heart.

 

All the years long, I had not really cared about things like lyrics whether it be for songs or nursery rhymes. It wasn't until my dear wife brought to my notice how cruel some of the nursery rhymes have been that I began to ponder whether could we mend some of those. Classic example being Piggy on the Railroad where the rhyme speaks about a little pig picking up stones off the railyway tracks, minding his own business, when a train comes and runs him down. When the pig groans about it being unfair, the engine driver tells him he does not care!!

Hmm. What lesson does this teach our kids ?? Be reckless, destructive and not have a care in the world?? Obviously whoever wrote the rhyme did not seem to care much about those kind of things but was more intent on getting the words rhyming.
